Purposely Bred Labrador Retrievers
We are a small hobby kennel located about 30 minutes outside of Milwaukee on almost 3 acres in Lake Country, Wisconsin. Our dogs are truly part of our family, and everything we do revolves around them. If you see us out and about, we likely have a dog or two in tow with us.
Our Story
We added our first Dog Moose to our family back in 2018, and never looked back! Ironically, Rachel was not a dog person previously, but Moose quickly changed that. We brought home our yellow labrador Cain shortly after, and completed the trifecta (Chocolate, Yellow, and Black) about a year later. Now we couldn’t imagine our lives without our pack. They are truly the why, in our passion to pursue this adventure.
It was not until 2024 that we decided that we wanted to embark on this adventure with showing in AKC conformation and building a breeding program of our own. We absolutely fell in love with the Labrador breed, and could not imagine owning anything else.
Our goal with our small program as a preservation breeder is to first and foremost breed for ourselves.
We would also love to breed dogs with exceptional and sound temperaments who could be placed as therapy or service dog candidates. As a nurse practitioner, Rachel sees the impact therapy and service dogs provide daily to patients in the hospital, and we would love to be able to give back in that regard.
Standards of our Program
Any dog that is part of our program has to meet certain criteria within the breed standard. We have focused on and studied the breed standard, and aim to achieve those characteristics.
Our dogs undergo appropriate health testing to even be considered for our program including DNA testing, and OFA eye, cardiac, hip and elbow testing.
Our Labradors are dilute free. Labradors only come in 3 colors: Black, Chocolate and Yellow (ranges from light white to fox red).
Our dogs are raised and live in our home and frequently take up all the space on our couches. We do not have a kennel or outbuilding for them. Our puppies will be raised and whelped right in our bedroom and living room, where they can be around the hustle and bustle of a busy family life!

There are obviously many amazing breeders out there who we truly look up to and aim to have a program equally as impressive one day. But what makes us stand out, is our commitment to the dogs and our future puppy families. I want to be a resource and keep in touch with you for years to come. I want updates and to see them grow. You will never bother me if you send a check in or pictures. Once you get a Stout Oak Puppy, you are a member of our family for life.
We plan to do ENS stimulation and provide early safe socializing and experiences to create calm confident puppies. Your puppy will be exposed to crates and started on potty training during their time with us, which will hopefully make the transition home that much easier.
We are also considering having a puppy kindergarten, where we keep them for an additional amount of time and work on house breaking them for you! Please inquire if this is something you may be interested in.
